Mukesh Ambani, the richest man in Asia, purchases his seventh armoured Mercedes-Benz S680 Guard limousine

While billionaires own luxury vehicles, not even world leaders can boast a fleet of cars like Mukesh Ambani has in his garage...

The richest man in Asia recently added the seventh armoured Mercedes-Benz S680 Guard limousine, worth $1.2 million to his collection, making it one of the safest civilian vehicles in the world.

Indian billionaire Mukesh Ambani, the chairman and managing director of Reliance Industries, is Asia's wealthiest individual with an estimated net worth of $91.2 billion. It's no surprise that Ambani is considered one of India's most significant figures and requires top-tier protection. Naturally, the car he drives must also be among the world's safest. For this reason, Mukesh Ambani recently expanded his impressive car collection, often referred to as the Jio Garage, by adding a new Mercedes-Benz S680 Guard. This is the seventh armoured Mercedes joining his fleet.

Photos of this beautiful Mercedes limousine were shared on Instagram by an Indian car-centric page named Car Crazy India. As seen in the photos, this flagship model is finished in a stunning gold tone, officially known as Kalahari Gold. This is the second Mercedes-Benz S680 Guard W223 generation that Mukesh Ambani has acquired. Earlier, in July, this Indian billionaire bought the first model of the current generation in black.

The Mercedes-Benz S680 Guard W223 generation is considered one of the safest cars made for civilian use. It's certified to the VPAM VR 10 standard, currently the highest ballistic certification for civilian vehicles. This means it can protect its passengers from bullets fired from guns like the AK-47 or sniper rifles like the Dragunov, as well as explosives like bombs.

Apart from bullet and blast-resistant glass, this sedan is fitted with special Michelin tires with a system that allows continued driving even when the tire is punctured. Under the hood is a twin-turbocharged V12 engine with a 6.0-liter capacity that can produce 621 horsepower and 1000 Nm of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels via the permanent 4Matic all-wheel drive.

Interestingly, before acquiring the two new W223 generation S-Class Guard cars, Ambani was often seen in one of two Mercedes-Benz S600 Guard W222 generation he owns. Both cars of the previous generation have the same silver exterior. The Ambani family is synonymous with luxury and is known for its love of exotic cars. According to reports, the Ambani family garage houses up to 168 vehicles, some of which are among the world's most expensive and rarest. In fact, there's a dedicated garage for all the cars in their $2 billion building named Antilia.
