A litteral dream come true - new Feadship Yachts Somnium

The fantastic boat, which was set in water for the first time this week, is equipped for family endeavors and adventures…

Feadship Shipyard will soon realize all the dreams of one family. The famous Dutch brand has recently finished its work on the latest made to measure superyacht, which is designed to take three generations of sailors on a journey of incredible adventures.

The 55-meter-long yacht left the shipyard’s manufacture this week for marine tests and the final details, before going to its new owner. The custom-made ship was named Somnium, which means "dream" in Latin, and we must say that the name is completely justified, especially when we take into account its purpose and powerful attitude.

Somnium was designed for an experienced owner from the northern part of Europe, represented by Ron Kleverlaan from the Waterman Marine Consultancy agency. The gentleman had a whole list of requests and participated with all his heart in its realisation, as they say from the shipyard. Moreover, he visited the shipyard twice a week, to check on progress and have a beer with the team that worked on his ship.

It is this unwavering commitment, combined with Feadship skills, that has proven to be a winning combination, which makes the superyacht, we can freely say, spectacular. The magnificent exterior of the Somnium is the work of Studio De Voogt. It has been given a sleek profile that reflects its owner’s passion for sports cars, along with an aluminium hull that improves its efficiency while allowing for a shallow draft for undisturbed exploration.

The interior is the work of FM Architecture and is described as comfortable. The generous layout of the space consists of an owner’s cabin with a nearby balcony and four spacious guest suites on the lower deck. Interior details and the benefits it will provide are yet to find their place, although the shipyard has revealed that the construction of a high-tech gym, with a modular platform, is planned.

The Somnium also features generous exterior spaces for family enjoyment, including a spacious loggia on the front deck and a hospitable “jacuzzi island” on the sun deck. In addition, there is a pool with an adjustable floor, located on the aft deck. Of course, there are also water toys, which find their place in the tender garage.

"Somnium will be a reminder of how many sophisticated things people can enjoy on a 55-meter-long yacht, when the visionary owner joins a team of experienced minds in the field of design and construction," the shipyard leaders explain. We can freely say that she is a reminder that some dreams can really come true!
