Luxury yacht Rio - made for conquering the seas

Superyachts are the best places to party, especially when their design is inspired by the Brazilian city known for its fiestas.

The 62m custom steel and aluminium superyacht Rio was delivered by CRN Shipyard in May 2022. The taut, fluid hull lines and near-vertical bow are a striking testament to her exquisite elegance and dynamic, sporty personality. The yacht was designed and constructed by the CRN shipyard in close cooperation with the design and architecture studio Omega Architects, who created the exterior concept, and the designers Pulina Exclusive Interiors, who are in charge of the interior design.

With a length of 62 meters and a beam of 11.2 meters, this four-deck yacht comfortably accommodates up to 12 guests in the owner's suite and five guest cabins, including two VIP suites - one on the main deck forward, the other on the lower deck, while the three suites also located on the lower deck. All cabins are connected by an elevator, and the yacht also has nine cabins for 15 crew members.

"The owners of the yacht are young people, who work in the software and games industry and have four young children," said Alessandro Pulina of Pulina Interiors. "They had a clear design vision in mind, and an open space where they could relax and work was the central focus."

This yacht made to the right measure has an unmistakable aspiration: to make life on board unique and pleasant. The owner specifically requested bright, colourful spaces and a cheerful atmosphere for the enjoyment of younger family members. A lively concept with a tropical mood was designed, where the prevailing optimistic white tones, clean lines and natural materials are emphasized by a thoughtful mix of vibrant colours and colourful decor inspired by exotic motifs. The white walls are in harmony with the marine palette, from pastel turquoise to different shades of azure for furniture and textiles in customized textures. And wonderful details – in shades of blue and fuchsia or green and grey – further embellish every deck.

The exteriors are designed as multifunctional spaces for relaxation and social moments. This wealth of space includes an aft lounge with bright, airy alfresco dining areas and a forward salon on the owner's deck with a generous spa pool and sundeck for fitness and entertaining. The wellness salon has beach club water toys, a large spa pool and an aft cinema area located on the deck.

Rio Yacht is partly named after the family cat, but her name also refers to the city of Rio de Janeiro, while she was originally constructed with charter in mind. However, after delivery, the owners decided to keep the yacht exclusively for private use. The family cruised the western Mediterranean, visiting Italy, France and Monaco, and as winter approaches, the Caribbean and the Bahamas are on the agenda.
