LUXURY HOTEL IN SWITZERLAND

Hotel Grand Bellevue was originally built in 1912 as a Cure House and spa, and has recently come into new ownership…

With a fresh new contemporary look and name, it was reveled in time for ski season in Gstaasd, Switzerland. After a year-long renovation, the re-launch of Gstaad’s oldest palace hotel has introduced a fresh sense of vitality to this famously traditional Swiss village. Family-owned and managed, Le Grand Bellevue is owned by Swiss entrepreneurs, Daniel and Davia Koetser, who have created a casual yet refined 57-room hotel that has been stripped of the formalities and grandeur of its more traditional neighbours, Le Grand Bellevue has a neighborhood spirit and the welcoming feel of a country house hotel. Bold colours, eye-catching prints and elegant furniture make up the lounge where you can indulge in afternoon tea by an open fire. Here, bespoke furniture designed by Davia includes side-tables made from antique Alpine walking sticks alongside classic pieces such as George Smith armchairs upholstered in soft velvets and smart herringbone fabrics.

The Swiss hotel’s signature restaurant Leonards delivers exquisite bistro-style cuisine by Michelin-starred chef Urs Gschwend whilst Le Petit Chalet is a charming Swiss mountain cabin, seating an intimate 18 guests with a menu of hearty Swiss dishes. Added perks include: the hotel’s ‘Carnozet’ which houses 10,000 bottles; an exclusive sushi bar; cigar lounge; 18-seat private cinema and a club room.

For the ultimate après-ski or partying relaxation, the luxury hotel’s spa offers a sanctuary for wellness in partnership with Bamford Spa and revolutionary Swiss facial brand Cellcosmet. Facilities include: eight spacious treatment rooms, Turkish hammam, Himalayan salt inhalation grotto and outdoor Finnish sauna, a fully equipped gym, yoga & Pilates studio and a swimming pool opening up onto a lavender-clad terrace during summer months.
