Gucci joins The Lion's Share Fund

Whether it’s about intriguing pumas or bears, wild animals are exotic, dear and unfortunately, always endangered nowadays…

With the goal of changing that on the big, global stage, Gucci brand has joined The Lion's Share Fund to give our four-paw friends the chance to enjoy the wonderful world they deserve. The idea behind this fund is simple - every time a luxury brand displays an animal in their campaign, they must donate 0.5% of their earnings to charity. The money raised in this way is used to cope with the crisis in nature, biodiversity and the climate around the world. Led by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), this plan aims to raise over $ 100 million annually over the next five years.

Commenting on the initiative, Gucci brand president and CEO Marco Bizzari said: “The Lion's Share Fund is an important addition to our conservation strategy. Nature and wildlife give Gucci brand the inspiration to create, which is an integral part of our narrative through collections and campaigns. With increasing threats to our planet's biodiversity, such initiatives have the potential to be transformative by organically linking the business community with direct actions to protect our natural environment and the habitats of the most endangered species.
