SALONE INTERNAZIONALE DEL MOBILE 2014

53. edition of Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan, lasted from April 8th till April 13th, was finished with very successful results…

On this years’ edition of the famous fair I Saloni, 1.400 international exhibitors had presented their novelties, on a space spanning across 152.300 square meters. Like before, the exhibition space was divided in three parts – Classic, Modern and Design – in order to ensure neat and logical moving track for all visitors.

Its success, this fair owes to its numerous exhibitors and visitors. All in all, this fair was visited by 357.212 persons, from over 160 countries of the world, which is 13% more than last year. One of the most important visitors was Prime Minister Matteo Renzi. He highlighted the importance of the furniture industry for Italy, stating that it is a very important strategic sector. He also said that, due to its furniture industry and production ethos, Italy is still alive, and it is easily overcoming the global economy crisis.

The organizers of the fair have said that this fair was a bit more international than its predecessors. As we already said, visitors came from over 160 states of the world. This edition of the famous fair had constructed a powerful and interesting synergy with the city of Milan in which it takes place: they have envisioned an exquisite creative capital in collaboration, which was used to easily attract thousands of visitors. Their Design Week was visited by a huge number of people, who were thrilled by the Welcome Project. This project was done for the first time this year, in collaboration with Municipality of Milan and Fashion Design division. Over 100 students from Milan design schools were greeting visitors on selected locations through out the city.

This fair was not only about business. The exhibition “Where architects live” had drawn a lot of attention and it had a leading role in this fair. The exhibition was the perfect opportunity to show and reflect the way of living and the art of living through the eyes of eight worldly renewed and globally appreciated designers: Shigeru Ban, Mario Belini, David Chipperfield, Massimiliano i Doriana Fuksas, Zaha Hadid, Marcio Kogan, Daniel LIbeskind and Studio Mumbai/Bijoy Jain.

Thanks to the incredibly good organization and offering, the 53. edition of the Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan was completely sold out, which only testifies to the importance of this event.
