They influence our every fashion move - Business of Fashion 500
Every year, the Business of Fashion presents us with its annual list of the top 500 people who shape the fashion industry...
If we recall the fact that the fashion industry is worth about a trillion dollars, it is clear why these people are so important. However, clothing and fashion accessories are very important in today's society, whether we look at them as a need or stylistic details. Even Muppet characters from the show today wear designer clothes! Business of Fashion 500 is a professional index of the people who shape this global industry, including virtually all stakeholders, from Marc Jacobs, Diane von Furstenberg to Kanye West, Anne Cleveland and others. The United States is the most prevalent in this list, with as many as 157 members, or about 31%. In second place are found United Kingdom with 127 people, and the list goes on, all the way to the countries that probably you would not expect on a list of this type, such as Somalia, Puerto Rico and Nepal.
Business of Fashion 500 Index offers us a legitimate global perspective of power, diversity and creativity of the people who affect our daily selection of clothing. Designers form a major part of the list because they are the creators of fashion pieces which have the most impact on us. However, what is interesting, the 28 people belonging to the category of Fashion 2.0, designed for those who have an impact on fashion from a digital perspective, it does not seem like much direct access. One person who stands out is the founder of Instagram, Kevin Systrom.
