160 YEARS OF LOUIS VUITTON MONOGRAM

In 1854 Louis Vuitton founded his fashion brand...

In 1896, his son, Georges Vuitton created the famous Monogram, in honor of his late father, and so an icon was born. Now, with the aim of celebrating 160 years of the icon, Louis Vuitton fashion brand launched the "The Icon and the Iconoclasts: Celebrating Monogram" project. This famous fashion brand has invited six talented and creative iconoclasts, who are the best in their fields - fashion, art, architecture and products design to interpret LV Monogram in their own individual way, in order to create a unique series of bags.

Designer Karl Lagerfeld, architect Frank Gehry, artist Cindy Sherman, industrial designer Marc Newson, shoe designer Christian Louboutin and Rei Kawakubo of Comme des Garcons are the people who have had the honor to present their insights into this famous Monogram all over the world.

"Monogram is timeless, but with this project we want to show the way in which this symbol defied time and classical conventions," said Michael Burke, CEO of Louis Vuitton brand.

These very exclusive bags that are naturally limited editions will be available in selected Louis Vuitton boutiques worldwide by the middle of October this year.
