MONTBLANC PRINCESS GRACE COLLECTION

The new additions to the Montblanc Collection Princesse Grace de Monaco will be available from May 2013 in Montblanc boutiques worldwide...

Created in homage to the Hollywood movie star who won the heart of a prince and touched the lives of millions, the Montblanc Princess Grace de Monaco fine jewellery collection will, in May 2013, welcome an array of new designs that further enhance the allure of this eternally elegant and exquisitely crafted line.

At the heart of the Montblanc Collection Princess Grace de Monaco is the rose, the favourite flower of Princess Grace and – like her – the epitome of classic beauty, an enduring symbol of femininity and romance. Who can forget the iconic images of Grace Kelly, serenely radiant in her bridal gown of silk taffeta and embroidered lace, marrying H.S.H. Prince Rainer III of Monaco? To commemorate that day in 1956, a pink rose was created and named Grace de Monaco. It was, she said, the most wonderful of all her wedding gifts.

The petals of that rose – so perfect, so delicate, so soft and sensual – were the inspiration for the Princesse Grace de Monaco fine jewellery collection. From that single source, Montblanc drew two distinct yet complementary design directions: the timelessly elegant Pétales de Rose motif and the bolder, contemporary Pétales Entrelacés motif. Both are now enriched with intricately worked new designs that epitomize the flawless craftsmanship for which Montblanc is renowned.

A modern classic, the Pétales de Rose motif, interpreted in white gold and diamonds, encapsulates the subtle, soignée sophistication that will forever be associated with Princess Grace. Openwork diamond-paved rose petals form sinuous shapes that gracefully encircle a wrist or finger, dangle from an earlobe, or rest lightly against the throat. Among the new designs, a beautiful band ring spotlights a single petal in diamonds pavé with a brilliant diamond at its centre. Other pieces that are perfect for every day include a necklace and bracelet with dainty diamond-paved petals strung on a slender white gold chain, and hoop earrings crafted from three artfully juxtaposed petals.

A vibrant and contemporary take on the romance of the rose petal, the Pétales Entrelacés motif is rendered in warm pink gold, with or without diamonds pavé. This striking theme, based on interlocking openwork petals, offered rich opportunities for fresh creative interpretations, giving rise to the new Petits Pétales and Tourbillon motifs. Ideal love tokens, Petits Pétales feature miniature petals that interlock to form a floral “chain” on band rings, bangles and hoop earrings, or a dainty charm on ear studs, chain necklaces and bracelets. Demonstrating the virtuosity of Montblanc’s master jewellers, the spectacular Tourbillon motif, meanwhile, whips up an exuberant whirlwind of rose petals on bold statement pieces, in particular rings and hoop earrings in plain or diamond-paved pink gold.

In its inspiration and intricate craftsmanship, the Montblanc Collection Princesse Grace de Monaco recalls the jewels that were so much a part of her legend and persona, as a movie star, a princess and – first and foremost – a woman. Exquisitely elegant and eternally feminine, these precious and personal pieces are ones any woman will treasure.
