The most powerfull passports of the world

In a world without a Covid19, many of us would now slowly plan our return home from some distant destination or metropolis where we spent the holidays…

However, as you all already know, that was not possible this year. Despite that, the list of the most powerful passports in the world saw the light of day again. This analysis was made by the Henley Passport Index, an annual ranking of world passports based on international approaches, ie the possibility for a passport holder to enter a country without a visa.

According to this research, the Japanese are currently the luckiest, with the opportunity to visit as many as 191 countries without applying for a visa. In second place are the citizens of Singapore, with 190 countries that do not ask for anything more than a passport. Despite Brexit, United Kingdom passports climbed one place more than the previous year, while United States passports maintained their position.

Although before the advent of the corona virus, global mobility was expected to increase, along with greater freedom of travel, the situation did not go according to plan, as many countries had to close their borders to all travelers as part of pandemic prevention measures. Therefore, the number of countries you can visit was decimated.

We reveal to you which passports will be the most powerful in the world this year:

1. Japan - 191 countries

2. Singapore - 190 countries

3. Germany and South Korea - 189 countries

4. Finland, Italy, Luxembourg and Spain - 188 countries
