Pal Zileri - fall/winter 2016

Pal Zileri's horizons widen as its story unfolds. Today, this brand is undergoing a moment of creativity and growth unlike any in its 45-years.

With new owners Mayhoola for Investments of Qatar and Arafa for Investments and Consultancies (Arafa Holding - AIVC), a new creative vision, a new leadership and new stores launching around the world, Pal Zileri is reaching new customers across the globe.

The spirit and the skills of the past, the style and the science of now.

Inspired by timeless Italian heritage and echoing the designs of new Creative Director Mauro Ravizza Krieger, Pal Zileri sews together the traditional craftmanship Made in Italy with avant-garde style and advanced techniques – a vision called Avant – Craft.

A journey in the city from dawn to dark

The Pal Zileri Fall/Winter 2016 collection perfectly captures the new spirit of the Italian men’s brand as it looks to the future with a dynamic and inspiring energy.

Championing an effortless creative vision of luxe fashion, Pal Zileri reinvents its house classics with a hint of glamour, seamlessly mismatching lean tailoring, high-end sportswear, sartorial details and bonded leather pieces to contemporary effect. A selection of standout separates, highlighted by recurring sparkles of Lurex, for daring and active men eager to think out of the box, from dawn to dark.

Fall’s symmetries, geometries and chromatic nuances are inspired by Bauhaus artist Josef Albers, whose countless variations on the square have filled art galleries.

The new Pal Zileri brand philosophy is called “Avant-Craft”, a custom-coined term that represents the forward-looking mix of craftsmanship and a contemporary vision that distinguishes this label. Thanks to this balance of experience and technology, Pal Zileri’s sartorial excellence gains a cool edge and a modern urban twist. The brand is deeply intertwined with the Veneto region, the house’s headquarters since 1970, as well as a fervent cradle for luxury men’s wear and home to visionary architect Andrea Palladio.

Striving to exalt talent with an unexpected twist, the new Pal Zileri Fall/Winter 2016-17 advertising campaign channels the house’s new mood, direction and elegance with a balance of tradition and edge.

Pal Zileri chose world-famous ballet dancer SERGEI POLUNIN to front the images shot by photographer MACIEK KOBIELSKI on location in Williamsburg, NY.

The youngest principal dancer ever to perform for the British Royal Ballet, the Ukraine-born Polunin fully expresses Pal Zileri’s current identity and message with his balance of dramatic flair, strict artistic rigor and unconventional spirit. Dubbed “the bad boy of ballet”, Polunin is a strongly opinionated artist capable of creating controversy by speaking his mind and making unconventional choices.

Soaked by a strong lighting, a fresh-faced and intense Polunin strikes relaxed poses framed by steel grids, modern props and a tonal palette of grays and deep blues that set off a contemporary atmosphere with an industrial touch. His bold and tattooed attitude add character to Pal Zileri’s key fall looks, a mix of tailored pieces, luxe sportswear and exclusive details.

“We chose Sergei because he fully reflects our concept of innovation and tradition, a man whose world rocks through his dance, tattoos and artistic inspiration” says Mauro Ravizza Krieger, Pal Zileri’s Creative Director.

Nowadays, Polunin is set to appear at Sadler’s Wells for a series of performances and he is the subject of a new documentary, Dancer, which follows him over four years as he travels between London, Russia and LA, and offers an incisive and unprecedented look into the life of a talented man.
