To celebrate ten years of partnership with UNICEF, Louis Vuitton has introduced the extraordinary Unity Time Object Clock—a unique horological creation that combines exceptional mechanical craftsmanship, artistic savoir-faire, and a meaningful humanitarian mission.
Presented ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America, the singular timepiece stands as both a collector's masterpiece and a symbol of global solidarity.
Inspired by the unmistakable geometry of a football, the sculptural clock was developed by the master watchmakers of La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton in collaboration with renowned Swiss clockmaker L'Épée 1839. The result is an innovative objet d'art that reimagines traditional timekeeping through contemporary design and technical excellence.
At its heart lies a hand-wound mechanical movement offering an impressive eight-day power reserve. The mechanism is wound using a specially crafted steel key finished in gold, emphasizing the object's artisanal character and reinforcing its connection to classical haute horlogerie.
Rather than relying on conventional hands, the Unity Time Object Clock displays the time through two rotating cylinders. Hours are indicated by 144 white diamonds, while the minutes are represented by 120 specially treated black diamonds, creating a constantly evolving visual composition as the cylinders rotate throughout the day.
Its openwork steel framework echoes the familiar arrangement of pentagonal and hexagonal panels found on a traditional football, while also incorporating unmistakable Louis Vuitton signatures. Gold-toned corner reinforcements, decorative rivets, and protective structural elements reference the Maison's historic trunks, elegantly framing the exposed mechanical movement.
Measuring approximately 15 centimeters in diameter—roughly half the size of a standard football—the clock possesses a remarkable sculptural presence despite its compact proportions. Every angle reveals a carefully balanced interplay between architecture, engineering, and decorative artistry.
The timepiece is presented inside a bespoke trunk inspired by Louis Vuitton's iconic trophy cases. Entirely handcrafted at the Maison's historic Asnières workshop, where some of Louis Vuitton's most exceptional creations have been produced for more than a century, the presentation case reinforces the object's status as a true collector's piece.
