Over the times, we have seen some of the luxurious iPod docking stations like the "AeroPad two" by Jarre, "the BeoSound8", "the sculptural Phonofonr III", besides the other most expensive iPod docking stations. But, the one here we are talking about seems to have taken its inspiration from the bejeweled antiq clocks, or so it seems.
The ornate iPad dock, "TonSchrein" is created by Bavarian photographer Georg Dinkel. This overly-detailed iPad dock not only elevates the gadget to a different level of fanaticism, but also delivers the similar kind of functionality one expects from rather simpler docks.
Referred to as TonSchrein or Sound Shrine in English, this ornate iPad dock with intricate details has been molded out of polymer clay and coated in metallic paint. Further, within its gem-encrusted shell, it houses a 2.1 sound system and would work well as a mantle clock.
Apart from this iPad dock, the creator Georg Dinkel has also crafted an iPod nano version, which is just a two-speaker mono setup that hides the music device behind its doors decorated with intricate details.
However, the TonSchrein was totally a personal project, and it’s certainly not for sale though we are sure the rich and the famous would fancy one just like this to match their gold-plated iPhones and most expensive iPads.
