According to the latest information, the world will soon receive its first makeup museum, located in New York. Dedicated to the history of beauty and its lasting impact on society, the Make-up Museum will open next year in the worldwide metropolis. It will feature rotating exhibitions spanning more than 10,000 years of makeup history, with the first one entitled "Pink Jungle: 1950s Makeup in America". The museum's debut event will introduce us to the iconic fifties makeup trends and the way they used divas from the era, such as Greta Garbo, Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn.
Commenting on the launch, Doreen Bloch, CEO and co-founder of the Make-up Museum, said: “The make-up museum is a critical institution for the cultural landscape of New York and the world. Makeup has a 10,000-year long history, going from ancient Egyptians and kohl eyeliner used for kabuki and geisha makeup in Japan to the impact that makeup has on today's pop culture. "
Tickets for the first exhibit of this museum will be on sale from March next year, and the waiting list for first tickets is already open on the site of this building.
