STUART WEITZMAN STORE IN HONG KONG

Zaha Hadid is one very busy architect. She travel around designing buildings in all corners of the world.

She is also into product design, and worked with luxury labels like Louis Vuitton and Lalique in creating special editions. Then there is the Jazz superyacht she designed for  Blohm+Voss. Her latest project, a sleek boutique for the shoe brand Stuart Weitzman had its opening in Hong Kong last month. I see lot of similarities between the shoe store design and the Jazz yacht.

Located at Hong Kong’s shopping Mecca, IFC Mall, Stuart Weitzman store features Hadid’s familiar geometry influenced curvy designs with a futuristic look. Interiors suitable for a shoe show features fiberglass seats with rose gold accents and foldable furnishings with rounded corners. Easy wide open display units are an open invitation for customers to look and try shoes on display. Full of aesthetics, the store has a glass wall with reinforced concrete.

This is the second Zaha Hadid designed international flagship store for Stuart Weitzman. First was opened in Milan. There are plans for two more Hadid-designed stores to open this year – one in London and the other in Beijing.
