NEW LUXURIOUS ROSENTHAL COLLECTION

New collections of Rosenthal meets Versace will certainly charm you…

Donatella Versace is one of the great couturières. As from 1993 she designed the "Versus" collection. After the death of her brother Gianni she took over the creative overall resposibility in the Versace empire.

Versace has been cooperating with Rosenthal since 1993. Her exceptional Rosenthal Versace creations include »Jungle« and »Marqueterie«". In 2004 she created for Rosenthal studio-line "Celebrity Art"  her V.I.P. - Plate. Five percent of the proceeds will go to UNICEF according to her wishes.

Vanitas

The new “Vanitas” collection of Rosenthal meets Versace is made up of a series of vases and bowls in white or black. Each vase is decorated with 187 golden studs, each bowl with 126 golden studs.

Vanitas is not simply a word in the world of Versace: It is the description of a lifestyle distinguished by beauty and glamour. Originally used by the Maison to describe a specific type of rich embroidery and embellishment, it became a name used to denominate products such as a series of books, chairs, handbags, and a fragrance.

The iconic pattern of the Vanitas bags was used as a template for the design of the vases and bowls, thus creating a close connection between Versace fashion and the new porcelain pieces.

New Porcelain Series – Iconic heroes

The new “Iconic Heroes“ collection by Rosenthal meets Versace echoes the ancient motifs and myths, for which the Versace company has always had a special taste: an iconic Medusa head dominates the centre of the décor and is encircled by heroes of Greek antiquity on a magnificent orange-red background.

Strength and power merge here on the décor, which draws upon Greek mythology and ancient sculptural art. In addition to the delicate Acanthus leaf motifs that are so typical of the Barocco décor, the “Iconic Heroes” Collection elegantly and sophisticatedly allows the revival of a long forgotten era.

The new porcelain series by Rosenthal meets Versace pays homage to the historical roots of southernItaly. In the ancient world this country was one of the Greek colonies and looks back on a great history, in which the legends of glorious heroes reverberate.

Nendoo

Since its launch last year the "Nendoo" crockery series has grown to become a true success among lovers of good porcelain design. As a consequence Rosenthal has now launched more elements for all dining culture variations in 2013. The original starter collection comprises an extensive range of different cups for the coffee service and numerous articles that can be used in a variety of ways for almost all modern forms of dining, and has now also been complemented with new plates and platters. The platters that are divided into two, three or four sections and inspired by the system gastronomy are particularly interesting here. They are ideal not only for sushi, raclette or fondue, but also for serving finished meals directly on the plate.

Caffe Perfetto

Coffee ist cult. With the new »Caffè Perfetto!« coffee series, Rosenthal is  adding another variant to its delectable range of products for all coffee specialities to suit all personal tastes. For »Caffè Perfetto!« Rosenthal has been inspired by the origins of Italian coffee culture and taken on the polygonal tapered shape of the typical traditional coffee making “machine”.

Mini Vases

The Rosenthal Mini Vase Collection which was launched last year with the miniature versions of twelve famous Rosenthal designs, proves successfully that format is not necessarily a question of size. In 2013 the collection will be supplemented by "Asym" by Claus Josef Riedl, "Tasca" by Lino Sabattini, "Arcus" by Marcello Morandini, "Oasis" by Elsa Fischer-Treyden and "Ura" by Tapio Wirkkala. Just how much character these design classics possess - even in miniature format - becomes apparent not only in the display cabinet, but also with small floral arrangements. Standing alone or in a group – the white porcelain mini vases are definitely eye catchers.
