MARC JACOBS BEAUTY STORE

Marc Jacobs is making a beautiful statement by opening a beauty store, a first of its kind, for his debut make-up collection. The store, which is wholly dedicated to the 121-piece cosmetics collection, is located at 385 Bleecker Street, New York.

Spreading over 500 square foot, this space was earlier used by the designer to sell accessories. Designed by Stephan Jaklitsch of Gardner Architects, the new store is adorned with Sephora’s custom-designed Marc Jacobs gondolas. Fitted above the gondolas is a mirror emblazoned with brand’s beauty logo.

The highlight of the property is the heavy black granite table which will play the role of the workstation of the makeup artists who are trained to work on clients. Dangling right over the 20 tons mammothic table is Kacper Dolatowski designed black and white chandelier.

The art deco-inspired interior also displays fragrances on a wall. Shoppers can watch out for a vitrine showcasing sunglasses and a range of makeup bags shaped out of Jacob’s ready-to-wear collection too.

Fans can rejoice at the brand’s expansion plans as Robert Duffy, President of Marc Jacobs International, states that, the color collection and custom designed fixtures will open in 11 additional MJ locations in Bal Harbour- Florida, Boston, Chicago, Las Vegas, LA, New York, Provincetown – Massachusetts, San Fransisco and Savannah.

With LVMH’s strong backing, Marc Jacobs also has plans to go BIG by opening flagship stores on Fifth Avenue and Madison Avenue in NYC. And if all goes well, like always, MJ beauty pop-up stores may soon pop up all over the U.S. too.
