As the sea lever grew in time, Blue Hole was flooded and became the amazing natural phenomena which it is today.

As there was a beautiful cave settled here during the Ice Age, equally beautiful forms and stalagmites were left under the water. One of the first explorers of the Blue Hole was Jacques-Yves Cousteau. During 1971 he explored the depths of the Blue Hole several times and described them with many details. Original name of the Blue Hole – The Big Blue Hole, is to be credited to British diver a writer Ned Middleton. Today, this place is very popular among tourists, especially for divers.
