MAGICAL MONTENEGRO

Montenegro sandwiched between Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Albania is fast becoming a 21st-century luxury travel and property hot spot.

With a population of just 600,000, glittering fjords, Venetian churches, UNESCO heritage sites, 295km of coastline, a captivating history and new luxury developments popping up across the country – it’s no wonder the well-heeled set and discerning travelers are attracted to Montenegro.

The World Travel and Tourism Council have predicted that tourist numbers are expected to rise 10 per cent a year for the next 10 years. And increased visitor numbers have prompted Montenegro to set its sights on affluent travelers.

Celebrities such as the singer Emeli Sandé wed her Montenegrin boyfriend in Tivat. Roman Abramovich has discovered Montenegro as a destination – and former James Bond Pierce Brosnan was spotted here in the summer.

Luxury Aman Sveti Stefan Resort that was once a fishing village. The resort is now off limits to locals and is only accessible to guests. Other new developments include around Tivat and Kotor Bay in the north-west of the country. The Bay of Kotor is only an hour’s drive south of Dubrovnik, in Croatia. The landscape is just breathtaking; the beautiful inlet is where you can find small fishing villages and lush green hills that plunge steeply into azure blue waters.

Across the waters, is Lustica Bay. This resort currently under construction will feature a varied portfolio of real estate and lifestyle facilities including; boutique hotels, luxury homes and village amenities such as a school and retail units. The development’s elevated position provides spectacular views of natural beauty that Montenegro is known for along its breathtaking coastline.

Phase one of the project is due for completion in 2016, and will encompass apartments, townhouses and villas, a 120 berth marina, a 300 key marina hotel, an 18 hole ‘Gary Player’ golf course and a selection of shops within the Marina village.

Lustica Bay is situated on a hillside overlooking miles of cobalt halcyon water, and has taken the landscape’s rich natural assets, historic myths and lively traditions into close consideration during its detailed planning phases so to appeal to a wide range of tourists and residents. The ambitious project has been spearheaded by Orascom, the company behind the El Gouna Egypt resort.

Lustica Bay is perfectly located along the Adriatic Coast in Traste Bay, just 80km from Podgorica and 10km from Tivat. The resort will be extremely easy to get to as it’s within close proximity to three international airports – 15 minutes from Tivat airport, 90 minutes from Podgorica airport and Dubrovnik airport.

The mesmeric waters of the Adriatic have inspired an emphasis on the Lustica Marina, beach club and village; the hub of the destination and a spot for ocean and land lovers alike to realise their passions and immerse themselves in a truly inspiring destination. Cafés and bars will pepper the harbour, the community’s first hotel will overlook the comings and goings of the waterway and the meandering boardwalk skirting the entire development will allow exploration of every inch of Luštica Bay.

Residences at Lustica Bay will face the sea with wide outdoor terraces taking advantage of panoramic views and lending themselves to alfresco entertaining throughout the day and night. The architecture meanwhile, pays homage to the rich culture of the surrounding landscape using indigenous materials and colour palettes across all designs. All construction adheres to strict LEED standards and is in line with the government’s commitment to reform, prosperity and dynamic growth.
