We take you to Tianzi Mountains, a true natural masterpiece, and definitely one of the wonders of the world. Tianzi Mountain provides stunning views of rock formations, which rise one after another, and look like they are hovering above the ground. At the peaks of those formations grow trees and plants, which make this place even more impressive.
These mountains were formed from quartz sandstone of 400 million years ago through the intermittently rising of the crust for 2 million years, running water eroding the near level quartz sandstone along the vertical net joints, and gravity collapse.
Tianzi Mountain takes its name from a man, Xiang Dakun. He was the leader of the Tu ethnic group during the last years of the Southern Song Dynasty (1127 -1279). Xiang Dakun led a revolution and avowed himself as Tianzi (Son of Heaven), since it was a common name for Chinese rulers.
Tianzi Mountains are one of the most beautiful national parks of China, covering over 67 square kilometers, with the highest peak reaching 1262 meters above the sea level. These mountains are a growing tourist attraction. Visitors can enjoy a beautiful view on mysterious mountain peaks covered with forests, as well as a magnificent valley underneath. The view on this natural wonder is the best from a 2084 meters long cable car.
