Gwyneth Paltrow sells California home for $27.3 million

Oscar-winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow's stunning childhood home in California has hit the market for $27.3 million.

The famous Hollywood actress Gwyneth Paltrow spent her childhood quite lavishly, which can be seen if you look at the home where she spent her younger years. The property is located in the highly desirable Gillette Regent neighbourhood in Santa Monica, California and was built in 1913. Paltrow lived here with her parents – actress Blythe Danner, late director and producer Bruce Paltrow and brother Jack Paltrow.

The family bought the house in 1976, and later sold it to designer from Paris, Jerome Dahan, founder of jeans brand Citizens of Humanity and 7 for All Mankind.

The beautiful home includes a range of amenities and is a true gem of the property even today. At almost 700 square meters it sits on an impressive double plot of just under half an acre and has six bedrooms and seven bathrooms. You will be greeted by a formal glass entry leading into the interior of the home, which includes a renovated living room with a fireplace. Adjacent to the living room is a beautiful kitchen with a massive marble island and top-of-the-line Wolf and Sub-Zero appliances. The main floor features a home theatre and guest bedroom.

Other facilities include a two-storey guest house with a gym, sauna, bedroom and office, as well as a car showroom. The high-tech house also has solar panels, backup generators and security cameras.

However, the highlight is undoubtedly the pool and spa, as well as the landscaped outdoor garden with two fire pits. The exterior is a tropical oasis with lush landscaping and lighting added after an extensive renovation.

Paltrow now lives in Montecito, Santa Barbara, California, with her husband, Brad Falchuk, and her children, daughter Apple, 18, and son Moses, 16, whom she raises with ex-husband Chris Martin of Coldplay.
