Charming villa inspired by Buckingham palace

The jewel in the crown of this villa is its Queen Victoria suite…

Like a real palace, a 300-year-old English mansion built in Buckingham's palace style and worthy of your attention, has just hit the market with a price tag of $ 11 million.

Located an hour and a half drive from central London, Hinwick House is set on 37 wooded acres and comes with indispensable aristocratic elements such as cricket lawns, deer herds, swan lakes and barns with associated equipment.

Built in 1714, this spectacular villa was intended for wealthy aristocrats Richard and Diana Orlebar. They wanted a mansion that would resemble Buckingham's then-palace, which only became the Queen's residence in later years.

The Orlebar family owned this property until the late 1990s. When entrepreneur Sam Sing bought it in 2014, the villa was in dire straits. Singh and his wife, Nina, who bought the villa for $ 5.9 million, spent an additional $ 4.87 million and two years of their life renovating it, which included more than 120 artisans and craftsmen.

Today, the main house occupies about 1,800 square meters, has twenty bedrooms and twelve bathrooms, spread over three levels. The ornate formal dining room, with its two huge chandeliers, offers plenty of room for 16 people, but don't think of sitting in an Orlebar chair. Covered in lion's skin, with armrests that remind us of lion's limbs, this chair, according to tradition, can only accommodate a member of the Orlebar family.

One of the many bedrooms in this villa is the Victoria Suite, named after Queen Victoria who had historical ties to the Sing family. It contains artifacts and images of the monarch. Suitable for nobility, the room has its own fireplace and private bathroom, with a quaint, cylindrical shower enclosure with gold details.

Just outside the house is a quaint Victorian wing, which was added in 1859, while on the other side of the courtyard are three separate guest houses with two bedrooms each.

In the exterior, you can expect everything from tennis courts, to cricket lawns, hiking trails or horseback riding. When it gets too cold outside, you can retreat to one of the comfortable bars or pubs that are part of this property.

Is it all worth the price we already mentioned? Assess for yourself.
