A French villa near Nice where Grace Kelly, the late Princess of Monaco, used to vacation can now become yours.
Named Les Moulins du Villars, the residence on the French Riviera was listed for a whopping $12.5 million back in August 2023. Failing to find a buyer, the villa is now back on the market six months later at a reduced price of $8.5 million.
The house itself, originally built in the 14th century as a flour mill and olive oil production site, was completely transformed in the 1970s, and then the elegant complex was renovated again over a decade ago in 2012. It's known that in 1980, Princess Grace visited the estate with her daughter, Princess Caroline.
The villa on the French Riviera stretches across 600 square meters and boasts seven bedrooms split between the main residence and a guest house. The approximately five-acre estate also includes plenty of modern comforts - though you wouldn't guess it from its medieval surroundings. There's an elevator, a tennis court serving as a helipad or soccer field, a wine cellar, and a fitness studio. At the same time, the estate features numerous citrus and olive trees, two vegetable gardens, a koi pond, and a natural spring believed by locals to possess healing properties.
The house spans four floors and is made of local stone with original furnishings and artwork from ancient times. Another design detail is the wrought iron wheel encased in glass, which was replaced in 2012. The interior boasts two living rooms and two kitchens. Outside, the plot includes several outbuildings, including a recently renovated ruin and an infinity pool overlooking picturesque valleys.
