A quarter of a century after the original Vanquish became one of the most recognizable British grand tourers of its generation, Aston Martin is celebrating its anniversary in a way befitting one of the most important names in the marque’s history.
The Vanquish 25th Anniversary Edition has been unveiled as a special version of the current flagship model, combining details inspired by the original with contemporary performance and the extensive personalization capabilities of Q by Aston Martin.
Exclusivity is guaranteed by the numbers alone – just 25 Coupe and 25 Volante examples will be produced, for a total of only 50 cars worldwide.
Each receives special materials, colors, interior details and anniversary badging, while beneath the elegant bodywork sits a 5.2-liter twin-turbo V12 producing an impressive 835 hp.
A Tribute to the Car That Defined an Era
The original Aston Martin Vanquish was introduced at the beginning of the new millennium, ushering in a new design and technological direction for the British manufacturer. A quarter of a century later, Q by Aston Martin did not simply want to reproduce its appearance.
Instead, recognizable details from the first Vanquish have been reinterpreted using contemporary materials and technology.
The idea is for the car to speak simultaneously about the brand’s past and present – subtly enough to avoid becoming a retro model, yet with details that those familiar with Vanquish history will immediately recognize.
Q Skye Silver Creates a Connection With the Original
The body of the anniversary model is finished in the exclusive Q Skye Silver shade, selected as a sophisticated reference to the original Vanquish.
The silver theme continues through specially crafted stainless-steel elements and other exterior accents. From the side details to elements at the rear of the car, every intervention has been designed to emphasize the lines of the current model without disrupting its elegant silhouette.
Special 21-inch diamond-turned wheels have also been developed for the series, while discreet 25th anniversary badges reveal that this is no ordinary Vanquish.
The Cabin Hides Perhaps the Most Beautiful References to the Past
The connection with the original car becomes even more pronounced inside the cabin.
Q by Aston Martin combines Semi-Aniline leather and Alcantara, while a special diamond quilting pattern directly reinterprets details found in the cabin of the first-generation Vanquish.
Aluminum elements are paired with carbon fiber, further emphasizing the meeting of two eras – the traditional luxury grand tourer and the contemporary high-performance automobile.
An embroidered 25th anniversary motif appears on the seats, but one small detail on the center console perhaps captures the entire philosophy of the car better than anything else.
The Start Button Is a Subtle Tribute to the Original Vanquish
A special Start-Stop Rotary control has been developed for the anniversary series, finished in satin silver with a striking red center.
Its appearance directly references the original Vanquish, transforming the everyday ritual of starting the car into a subtle reminder of its history.
Details like these demonstrate the approach taken by Q by Aston Martin. Instead of introducing large retro elements that dominate the design, references to the past are hidden within materials, textures, stitching and surfaces that the owner gradually discovers while using the car.
The Most Powerful Series-Production Aston Martin
Behind the nostalgic details lies thoroughly modern engineering.
The Vanquish is powered by a 5.2-liter twin-turbo V12 producing 835 hp and 1,000 Nm of torque, making it the most powerful series-production Aston Martin to date.
That combination represents the essence of the anniversary edition. The Vanquish 25th Anniversary Edition was not conceived as a museum-style tribute to a car from the past, but as a demonstration of just how much the same name has evolved over the course of a quarter of a century.
From the original grand tourer that represented a new era for the company in the early 2000s to today’s V12 flagship with more than 800 horsepower, the Vanquish has remained a car designed for covering long distances at high speed, with a sense of style that never needs to loudly announce its exclusivity.
With only 50 examples destined for the entire world, the 25th Anniversary Edition transforms that story into one of the most collectible Vanquish models of the new generation.
