SINGAPORE - City of the future

Republic of Singapore is the island state, situated on the southern tip of the Malay Peninsula. It consists of 63 small islands, including the largest, Singapore, with a total area of 710.2 square kilometers...

With a population of about 5 million, it is the second most densely populated country in the world, after Monaco. This is the fourth leading financial center in the world and a cosmopolitan city, which plays a key role in international trade and finance. Singapore's port is one of the five busiest ports in the world.

Discard the image of Singapore as a boring, sterile utopia - Scratch the surface and discover a strange mixture of Chinese, Malay, Indian and Western culture, a rich social melting pot, which is anything but boring. Sure, trains which are not covered with graffiti arrive on time, traffic jams do not exist and everyone looks neat and friendly...

Singapore is actually one of the nicest and most pleasant cities in Southeast Asia. When you start from one of the world's best airport, traveling along the highway surrounded by trees or a line of fast-MRT train, you'll quickly realize that this is not a city with traffic jams.

Food is a national obsession - and it's not hard to see why. Sambal stingray, char kway teow, oyster omelet, chicken pilaf, Seafood, Rendang Beef... The list is long as much as is delicious. Singapore is one of only two cities in the world that still has parts of the tropical forest, whithin the Bukit Timah Nature Reserve, because the climate is equatorial, uniformly hot and humid throughout the year.

Singapore is today a perfectly regulated and modern city, clean and organized, and ran a long road of transformation from a colonial outpost and marsh notorious lair full of vice, to a strong industrial nation.
