1947 CISITALIA 202 SC

1947 Cisitalia 202 Berlinetta, with chassis 034, is universally recognized as the masterpiece of Pinin Farina: its design made it an icon of motoring history.

The founder of Cisitalia, PIERO DUSIO, industrialist from Turin, driver and sports car enthusiast had as internal staff, in the second half 'of the 40s, technicians as Ferdinand Porsche and Carlo Abarth and pilots as Piero Taruffi and Tazio Nuvolari. 

The Cisitalia 202 is considered an icon of Italian style and exposed to MO.MA - Museum of Modern art of New York since 1950, called "Sculpture in Movement".

In many competitions, the Cisitalia Berlinetta was distinguished by their superb performance: the little engine of 1089 cc, developed by Carlo Abarth, dry sump, combined with an excellent chassis and a lightweight body, it was a swift car capable of competing and very often beating more powerful cars.

The 034 debuted September 17, 1949 driven by Logan Hill at the famous Watkins Glen circuit Grand Prix. Logan and the 034 surprised all, finishing 8th overall and 1st in class. Hill has participated in numerous other races of the US East Coast, gathering good standings, before returning to the 034 Toni Pompey who will entrust to the other drivers. In the late 50s the 034 ends in California where it even took part in some races, changed into the body: the “mouth” was enlarged to facilitate cooling. Afterward, the renowned collector Giuliano Bensi acquired it and undertook the overall restoration.
