It finally arrived: Check out the new Aston Martin DBX
The famous British brand finally thrilled us with their first ever SUV that is part of their 106 years old portfolio…
Introduced during this year's Los Angeles Auto Show, Aston Martin DBX is expected to respond to the latest trends in the luxury SUV market, becoming the brand's best-selling model. We can safely say that this model was something the Aston Martin brand desperately needed, with declining interest in their more traditional models.
Before the official launch of the model, Aston Martin teased the public with snapshots and photographs for an extended period of time to maximize interest before finally removing the veil from it. The style of the DBX model is covered by design elements that come from a variety of Aston Martin family models, including the DB11 and Vantage. Still, all those styling moments are tailored to fit the SUV body style.
Inside the cockpit, the DBX has received a number of luxury features and amenities. The seats are upholstered in the finest leather, while the roof liner and electric sunroof are available in the Alcantara variant. To keep the cabin as airy as possible, it was given a full-length panoramic roof. In addition, customers can choose to have their DBX completely customized by the Q division of Aston Martin, or they can simply opt for the exclusive 1913 package, which is packed with unique details, including special markings.
The Aston Martin DBX is powered by the same 4.0 liter turbocharged V8 engine that can be seen in the DB11 and Vantage models. Still, the engine is tuned differently for a luxury SUV, so it now produces 542 horsepower, which is routed to all four wheels, with nine-speed automatic transmission.
Aston Martin says the DBX accelerates from zero to sixty miles per hour in 4.3 seconds, with a top speed of 180 miles per hour. The SUV also has an active exhaust system with a cylinder deactivation option. The first shipments of this model will begin during the second half of next year, with a starting price of $ 192,986.
