For an entire century, the Phantom has embodied the ultimate expression of prestige, taste, and personal achievement.

From industrial visionaries and film legends to statesmen and artists, this automobile has become a symbol of power, elegance, and cultural influence. In the year marking its 100th anniversary, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars pays tribute to this legendary name with an exceptionally limited series — the Phantom Centenary Private Collection, comprising only 25 units. It is the most ambitious private collection the brand has ever created: technically the most complex, aesthetically the most refined, and conceptually the deepest.

At the heart of the project is the Bespoke Collective — a team of designers, engineers, and master craftspeople who spent a year studying every layer of the Phantom legacy. From early 1920s sketches, historic journeys, key owners, and experimental developments that shaped the brand’s evolution. The result is 77 hand-drawn motifs, symbolic details woven into the car’s structure like coded fragments of a grand, century-long story.

The Phantom Centenary Private Collection is conceived as a moving archive — a masterpiece that preserves the past, defines the present, and shapes the future of the world’s most famous luxury automobile.

Exterior: Cinematic Elegance with Golden Jubilee Accents

The exterior evokes the glamour of Hollywood’s golden age, when Phantom models graced red carpets, luxury premieres, and private drives of global icons. The body is finished in a unique Bespoke two-tone Super Champagne Crystal over Arctic White and Black hues. The paint incorporates iridescent glass particles, developed specifically for this collection, with double the usual concentration for exceptional depth and brilliance.

The crown of the exterior is the Spirit of Ecstasy crafted in solid gold — first cast in 18-karat gold for strength, then coated in 24-karat gold, and finally marked with the exclusive “Phantom Centenary” hallmark from the London Assay Office. For the first time in Phantom history, the “RR” Badge of Honour on the front, rear, and sides is executed in 24-karat gold with white enamel.

Special Phantom disc wheels further elevate the collection, each featuring 25 engraved lines — a total of 100 lines in honor of the centenary.

Interior: Time, Memory, and Craft at Their Most Luxurious

The cabin of the Phantom Centenary Private Collection becomes a true gallery — a place where the archive of a legend reveals itself layer by layer. Inspiration comes from early Phantom models, which combined leather in the front and fine textiles in the rear. This traditional duality is reinterpreted here through innovative fabrics, exclusive craftsmanship, and techniques developed solely for this edition.

Rear Seats: Haute Couture Tapestry in Motion

The rear section features the most intricate textile composition Rolls-Royce has ever created. In collaboration with a fashion atelier, a high-resolution printed fabric was developed over 12 months, depicting key locations, artifacts, and historic Phantom models. Over it, embroidered silhouettes abstractly portray seven iconic owners — one from each Phantom generation.

The complete composition consists of more than 160,000 stitches, creating the effect of a sketched pencil drawing translated into thread. Panels are hand-fitted to the sculpted lines of the seats, using techniques reminiscent of the tailoring traditions of Savile Row.

Front Seats: Honoring the Brand’s Drawing Heritage

The front seats feature leather decorated with laser-engraved motifs, based on hand-drawn sketches. These elements contain encoded references from the brand’s history — from the “Roger Rabbit” internal codename used for the 2003 company relaunch, to the seagull emblem that appeared on the 1923 Phantom I prototype.

Anthology Gallery: Aluminum Pages of a Chronicle

The most striking cabin feature is the Anthology Gallery — a transparent installation composed of 50 aluminum “pages”, shaped like an art book. Each page carries warped quotes from 100 years of media texts, readable on both sides. The light effects create reflections reminiscent of fireworks — a subtle homage to the jubilee celebration.

Wood and Gold: The Pinnacle of Craftsmanship

The door panels showcase the most complex wooden composition ever seen in a Rolls-Royce. Crafted in Blackwood veneer, they depict maps, landscapes, routes, and details from historic Phantom journeys. Techniques used include 3D marquetry, 3D ink layering, laser engraving, and gilding. The routes of legendary Phantom trips are represented with 24-karat gold leaf, just 0.1 micrometers thick.

The rear doors portray landscapes of southern France, where Henry Royce spent his winters, while the front doors depict West Wittering and a historic route through Australia. In the finished panels, past and present meet through symbolic depictions of the 1925 Phantom I and today’s Phantom VIII.

Starlight Headliner: 440,000 Stitches, 100 Years of Memories

The iconic Starlight Headliner becomes an embroidered narrative made of 440,000 stitches. Motifs recall moments from the life of Henry Royce, references to Malcolm Campbell’s legendary “Bluebird” Phantom, and symbolic imagery from the modern Goodwood era.

Golden Mechanics and Legendary Silence

The engine cover of the 6.75-liter V12 is specially designed for the collection, in Arctic White with accents in 24-karat gold, celebrating the most recognizable aspect of Phantom identity — its quietly, effortlessly powerful heart.

A Masterpiece of an Era

Creating the Phantom Centenary Private Collection took more than three years and over 40,000 working hours. This is a car that is not simply purchased — it is inherited. A car not merely driven — but one that embodies time, symbolism, and ambition, making it a living legend.

Limited to only 25 units, this series represents the purest expression of the Rolls-Royce philosophy: that art, craft, and technology can create symbols that endure beyond a century.
