Porsche Macan is back - better than ever
New options complete the Macan roster a year after its first major makeover…
Porsche barely gave drivers the opportunity to miss Macan GTS models. After a brief exile for several years, a new mid-range option of this popular crossover SUV returns to the scene, re-completing the Macan setup, one year after the vehicle received its first real makeover.
Not only does the GTS that comes back to us look better than ever, it also comes with a lot of new things, as they say from the Porsche brand. The famous brand has decided to squeeze some more horsepower and torque out of the already vibrant GTS engine.
The Porsche team calls this Macan the ultimate sports version, so the GTS hardly fits between three different offerings, namely the S model and the Turbo option, which is at the very top of the segment. Although it still contains a twin-turbo 2.9-liter V6 engine, its powertrain is a little more handsome for the 2020 model.
The crossover now puts out 375 horsepower, which is fifteen more than the standard range. While this may not sound like an exaggeration, it actually says that this SUV manages to accelerate from zero to sixty miles per hour in just 4.7 seconds. The optional Sports Chrono package gives the GTS an option of achieving the same acceleration in 4.5 seconds. The top speed of this model is 260 kilometers per hour, which is quite fair for an SUV, you will agree.
And while all the big changes have mostly taken place under the hood, they certainly don't put an end to the novelty story in this model. The crossover sportsman got a sleeker design too, with black accents, black-colored headlights and positions, 20-inch satin black RS Spyder wheels and red brake pliers. The interior has been redesigned with Alcantra details, brushed aluminum accents and a multifunction sports steering wheel, with exclusive GTS adjustable sports seats.
Of course, all these changes come with their prices. Starting at $ 72,650, the GTS now costs 4,000 more than it cost when it last hit the market. It will be in showrooms from next summer.
