LONGINES EQUESTRIAN POCKET WATCH

To celebrate the Year of the Horse, Swiss watchmaker Longines has launched its Equestrian Lépine pocket watch.

This novel creation is also a proof to the brand’s fervor for equestrian sports. Therefore the back cover of this exquisite pocket watch features a horse flying over a jump.

The piece is fitted with a manually wound L506 caliber housed inside a rose gold 49.5 mm case. It shows the hours and minutes and also has a small seconds sub dial at 6 o’clock. The white lacquered dial features 12 Arabic numerals painted black, with an additional 10 painted red. All of this adds up to a truly fashionable and modish piece that bestows the owner with a certain air of peculiarity most wristwatches don’t provide.

The model that served as inspiration for this timepiece is an old metal Lépine pocket watch dating all the way back to 1927, which is now displayed at the Longines Museum in Saint-Imler.
