In the world of watchmaking, inspiration often comes from aviation, architecture, or industrial design. This time, however, STOWA turns to something far more elusive—nature itself, and one of its most mysterious phenomena.

The Flieger Verus Black Forest Foxfire draws inspiration from “foxfire,” the natural glow produced by bioluminescent fungi on decaying wood. This subtle, almost magical light—visible deep within dark, humid forests—has fascinated observers for centuries. Now, it finds new life in the form of a contemporary pilot’s watch.

The result is a timepiece that remains true to the DNA of classic flieger watches—minimalist, highly legible, and functional—yet introduces an unexpected, almost poetic twist. The matte black stainless steel case with PVD coating creates the perfect canvas for what defines this watch: light.

The hands and the iconic pilot’s triangle at 12 o’clock emit a vivid green glow in the dark, while numerals and the minute track illuminate more subtly. The effect is layered and organic, reminiscent of soft, pulsating light in a forest at night—discreet, yet hypnotic.

Beneath this visual identity lies reliable Swiss engineering. The watch is available with either the automatic Sellita SW200 (in standard or upgraded versions) or the hand-wound Sellita SW210, allowing wearers to choose the experience that suits them best.

Its proportions further enhance everyday wearability: a 40 mm case diameter, a slim profile (9.7 mm for manual, 11.2 mm for automatic), and a balanced lug-to-lug length of 48.9 mm. Sapphire crystal on both sides reveals the movement, while 5 ATM water resistance ensures practical, daily usability.

What truly sets this model apart is not just its technical precision, but the way it bridges logic and emotion. By day, it is clean, legible, and almost industrial. By night, it transforms—alive with light, echoing the quiet poetry of nature.

The Flieger Verus Black Forest Foxfire is more than just another pilot’s watch. It is a reminder that even within the world of precision mechanics, there is still room for wonder.
