Two legends of British design have joined forces once again. Breitling and Aston Martin have unveiled the new Top Time B01 Chronograph 41 Tribute to Aston Martin DB5, a limited-edition watch celebrating one of the most recognizable cars of all time.
Inspired by the 1963 Aston Martin DB5, which secured its place in history after appearing in the 1965 film Thunderball with Sean Connery as James Bond, the chronograph combines exceptional watchmaking craftsmanship with legendary automotive heritage.
The new collection introduces three exclusive versions crafted from different precious materials, retaining the distinctive retro character of the Top Time line while incorporating numerous details inspired by the interior of the iconic grand tourer.
Design Inspired by the Aston Martin DB5 Interior
When designing the new chronograph, Breitling paid particular attention to the elements that defined the original DB5.
The watch features an inner ring with decoration reminiscent of the car’s wooden steering wheel, while leather straps with subtle color gradients evoke the luxurious leather interior of the legendary model. Particularly striking are the uniquely shaped subdials inspired by the Aston Martin dashboard, giving the collection an authentic automotive character.
In this way, every detail of the watch pays tribute to a car that became a symbol of British elegance and timeless design.
Three Limited Editions for Collectors
The collection consists of three exclusive models, each produced in strictly limited numbers.
The first version features a stainless-steel case with a silver dial and is limited to 1,022 pieces.
The second combines steel and platinum with an elegant black lacquered dial, with production limited to just 315 examples.
The most prestigious edition is crafted from 18-karat red gold and paired with an onyx dial, with only 250 pieces available worldwide.
A Caliber Developed in the Breitling Manufacture
At the heart of each model is the Breitling Manufacture Caliber 01, an automatic movement with COSC-certified chronometer precision.
The caliber offers a 70-hour power reserve and features a column-wheel system with a vertical clutch, solutions regarded as hallmarks of high-end chronographs thanks to their reliability and precise operation.
Visible through the sapphire crystal caseback is a specially designed rotor bearing the Aston Martin signature, finished in rhodium or gold depending on the version of the watch.
