One of the most sought-after actors of his generation is making a major entrance into the world of haute horlogerie.
Robert Pattinson has been named the new global ambassador for Jaeger-LeCoultre, and the partnership feels like much more than another conventional pairing of a celebrity and a luxury brand. The British actor has demonstrated an interest in mechanical watches for years, while recognizing in the philosophy of the Swiss manufacture the same qualities he seeks in his own work – character, craftsmanship and stories capable of lasting far beyond passing trends.
For Robert Pattinson, 2026 is already proving to be an exceptionally busy year. While working on the next film in the world of The Batman, he is also set to appear in a succession of projects throughout the year, including The Drama, The Odyssey, Primetime and Dune: Part Three.
Now he can add another major role to that list, this time away from the film set – global ambassador for Jaeger-LeCoultre.
The choice is no coincidence. The London-born actor has been described as a genuine enthusiast of haute horlogerie and mechanical watches, and it is precisely this authentic interest that makes the partnership feel more natural than the typical celebrity endorsement.
“A Great Watch Is About More Than Precision”
Pattinson says that what attracts him most to objects is the depth they carry with them.
For him, an exceptional watch is not simply an instrument for measuring time with precision, but a combination of character, craftsmanship and the story of how it came into existence.
That is precisely what he recognizes in Jaeger-LeCoultre, whose approach he describes as a form of “quiet mastery,” where technical innovation and artistic expression exist in balance.
That philosophy, the actor says, is also closely aligned with his own approach to his work.
Jaeger-LeCoultre Sees Much More Than a Famous Face in Pattinson
Jaeger-LeCoultre CEO Jérôme Lambert shares a similar perspective, describing Pattinson as a rare combination of artistic depth, curiosity and authenticity.
His career certainly supports that choice.
Following the global phenomenon of The Twilight Saga and his role as Edward Cullen, Pattinson very deliberately avoided becoming trapped in a single type of role. Films including Good Time, High Life, The Lighthouse, Tenet, The Batman, Mickey 17 and Die My Love revealed an entirely different side of an actor who could easily have chosen a much simpler path through Hollywood.
It is precisely this independence and willingness to take risks that Jaeger-LeCoultre connects with its own identity.
A Watch as a Small Escape From Modern Chaos
Perhaps the most interesting aspect of the new partnership is the way Pattinson speaks about watches.
When asked to describe Jaeger-LeCoultre without using the word “watch,” his answer was – timeless.
But not simply as an obvious play on words.

For him, looking at a precisely crafted mechanical object offers a brief pause from the speed and chaos of everyday life. Paradoxically, an object created to measure time can produce a moment in which time itself seems to disappear.
Pattinson believes Jaeger-LeCoultre carries a sense of history that can be felt even when a particular watch has only just left the manufacture. A new object can therefore carry knowledge, identity and craftsmanship developed over multiple generations.
In a world where almost everything continues to accelerate, such objects become reminders that something created with enough time, care and skill can outlive passing fashion.
What Does a Jaeger-LeCoultre Say About the Person Wearing It?
Pattinson believes that choosing a watch like this reflects an appreciation for detail, but also an understanding that something truly timeless can only be created through a combination of imagination, work and dedication.
His interest in collecting is equally fascinating. The actor admits that he has always been intrigued by the objects other people choose to collect, because he believes it is almost possible to reconstruct someone’s identity through them.
A collection, in his view, becomes a new story – individual objects have histories of their own, but when someone carefully selects them and places them alongside one another, something entirely new emerges.
He finds that same sense of history and storytelling in the creations of Jaeger-LeCoultre.
From IU and Lenny Kravitz to Robert Pattinson
Pattinson’s arrival marks a new chapter in Jaeger-LeCoultre’s efforts to forge an even stronger connection between traditional haute horlogerie and contemporary culture.
He joins a group of ambassadors that includes IU, Jackson Yee, Kim Woo-bin, Zhang Ziyi and Lenny Kravitz, while friends of the Maison include names such as Omar Sy and Joshua Hong.
The new campaign featuring Pattinson will be unveiled during the first half of September.
And the timing could hardly be better. In addition to his new film projects, Pattinson is becoming increasingly involved in production through his U.S.-based company Icki Eneo Arlo, which is behind projects including Primetime, India Donaldson’s The Chaperones and Parker Finn’s adaptation of Possession, starring Margaret Qualley, Callum Turner and Paul Dano.
Following Primetime, which will premiere at the Venice Film Festival, and Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Three, Pattinson is also expected to appear in Fernando Meirelles’ Here Comes the Flood in early 2027, alongside Denzel Washington and Daisy Edgar-Jones.
For Jaeger-LeCoultre, then, its new ambassador is not simply one of the biggest movie stars of the moment.
Robert Pattinson represents precisely the kind of understated luxury the manufacture wants to emphasize – recognizable but never obvious; traditional yet willing to experiment; and confident enough not to need a large logo to attract attention.
