In contemporary design, the boundary between function and art is steadily dissolving. It is precisely at this intersection that Virgola emerges—a new kitchen concept by ARAN Cucine, created in collaboration with renowned architect Massimo Iosa Ghini. This project redefines how space is perceived and experienced.
Presented during Milan Design Week 2026 in the heart of Porta Nuova, Virgola is not simply a kitchen system—it is a living concept shaped around human interaction with space.
At the core of the project lies a form that breaks away from traditional geometry: the curve. Instead of sharp corners and defined edges, Virgola introduces fluidity, creating a natural flow of movement and use. This “comma” logic, as described by the designer, replaces rigidity with a pause that feels intuitive and organic.
The worktop stands out as one of the most striking elements. Within its curved structure, the sink is seamlessly integrated, crafted from the same porcelain stone as the surface itself. The absence of visible joints creates a sense of complete visual and material continuity—resulting in a surface that is both aesthetically refined and exceptionally hygienic.
This technological innovation opens new possibilities not only in design but also in everyday functionality. The washing area becomes a multifunctional, almost sculptural feature, further enhanced by a range of accessories that expand its usability.
At the center of the composition is an integrated island that naturally extends from the main monolith. More than just an organizational element, it encourages social interaction, transforming the kitchen into a space for gathering and exchange.
Materials play a fundamental role in defining the Virgola concept. High-performance porcelain stone, FSC-certified wood, and water-based finishes with ultra-low emissions reflect the brand’s commitment to sustainability. Here, aesthetics and responsibility coexist in perfect balance.
As Massimo Iosa Ghini highlights, the collaboration with ARAN Cucine enabled the fusion of industrial precision and design vision into a single gesture—creating a space that is not only visually compelling, but also durable and conscious of its environmental impact.
Virgola is not a kitchen meant only to be seen—it is meant to be experienced. A space that functions like an open sentence, where every element has its place, yet retains the freedom to evolve.
At a time when design increasingly follows the rhythm of life, ARAN Cucine offers a response that is both sophisticated and natural: a kitchen that doesn’t end with a full stop—but with a comma.
