At a time when the kitchen is moving beyond pure functionality to become the true center of the home, Ulisse Narcisi reimagines one of the most iconic models by ARAN Cucine.

The restyling of Volare, unveiled during Milano Design Week 2026 in the heart of Porta Nuova, introduces a subtle yet meaningful transformation—one that redefines the relationship between form, material, and everyday living.

This project does not aim to be louder or more spectacular. Its strength lies in precision. Volumes are visually “lightened” through carefully balanced proportions, while the continuity of surfaces creates a sense of calm and clarity. The result is a space that feels both grounded and almost weightless.

Volare is conceived as an integrated system, ideal for open-plan interiors and contemporary architecture. At its core is natural oak, used for base units and the central island, bringing warmth and authenticity into the space. Beyond aesthetics, this material carries symbolic value—a connection to nature and origin, deeply rooted in the brand’s philosophy.

In contrast to the organic structure of wood, Taurus gres introduces a more expressive, tactile dimension. Its bold textures and patterns create tension and rhythm, shaping a space that feels sophisticated yet never cold. This dialogue between warm and cool, natural and industrial, defines the identity of the project.

Subtle details further enrich the composition. The interiors of wall units, finished in LPL Sabbia, add a soft chromatic layer—a kind of hidden luxury revealed only through daily use. It is precisely these quiet moments that give depth and character to the entire environment.

Horizontal lines are emphasized through a handleless system, plinth, and titanium profile. These elements do not dominate, but instead establish rhythm and structure, introducing a technological dimension that remains in service of aesthetics.

As the designer suggests, there comes a moment when material ceases to be just material—and becomes emotion. It is within this transformation that Volare finds its essence: between architecture and everyday life, between function and experience.

This kitchen is not merely a place for preparing food. It is a carefully composed landscape—a space of interaction, rhythm, and light—where design is not simply observed, but lived.
