At this year’s Milan Design Week, Italian lighting brand QU—renowned for its technical-decorative lighting—unveiled two standout pieces in the heart of Brera: Brillina and Brillo Castello.
The installation titled “Quattro – A Taste of Light,” created in collaboration with Parisotto + Formenton Architetti, explored light as a medium for shaping space and evoking emotion, with a thematic focus on hospitality.
Brillina marks QU’s first portable, rechargeable lamp. Made from machined aluminum components and technical polymers, it features a sandblasted PMMA light guide and integrated reflector for uniform, controlled illumination. The lamp runs on rechargeable batteries with over 8 hours of autonomy and includes an elegant touch control at the base for on/off and light intensity adjustment.
One of its most distinctive elements is the leather handle, allowing it to be hung from a branch, wall hook, or shelf—adding both playfulness and functionality to any setting. Brillina channels the spirit of a modern lantern: warm, adjustable, and poetically ambient—ideal for intimate indoor or outdoor moments.
Brillo Castello, on the other hand, is QU’s first chandelier. Its sculptural design adds bold visual identity and refinement to any space. Thanks to a modular structure, it can be configured in various compositions, making it suitable for a wide range of interiors—from private residences to hotels, restaurants, and lobby areas.
Equipped with 40 LED sources totaling 80W, Brillo Castello delivers fully dimmable lighting tailored to any mood or time of day. Each lighting point uses a sandblasted PMMA diffuser to provide soft, diffuse, and visually soothing light.
As a functional art installation, Brillo Castello transforms any environment into a luminous spectacle—subtle yet striking, elegant yet playful.
With these two models, QU once again affirms its design philosophy: indoor. outdoor. bespoke.—offering lighting solutions that transcend spatial boundaries, seamlessly connecting style and function.
