First contact between famous English constructor of Aston Martin (then he was part of industrial group David Brown) and Carrozzeria Touring happened very spontaneously.
Returning from car show in Paris 1955, two directors of Aston Martin and engineer Carlo Felice Bianchi Anderloni with his partner Ponzoni, were sitting in the same train compartment. They did not know each other but Mr.Anderloni who spoke English heard that gentlemen from Aston Martin are planning a visit to Carrozzeria Touring. He refer to them in a charming way and the next day they met at the Touring company headquarters. First result of the cooperation was designing a model Spider 2000 cc, on chassis DB2/4, although only 3 automobiles were sold after the presentation on a car shows in Torino and London 1956.
This was a base ground for more important agreement and that was production of new DB4 GT and then DB 5 i DB 6 models in various versions. They have agreed that after first and second prototype 1958. Production will be continued under licence in factories od Aston Martin in England, Feltham and then in Newport Pagnell respecting construction process patented as Superleggera. Model DB4 series 6 Saloon had a spectacular success thanks to the James Bond movie Operation Goldfinger.
This was unforgettable movie with unbelievable effects and James Bond in his Aston Martin outplaying enemies. This was the moment when Aston Martin and Superleggera entered the history of the movies.
