CHOPARD LUC 1963 CHRONOMETER

The Scheufele family has owned Chopard since 1963, to celebrate the 50th anniversary the watchmaker has released a new watch, the LUC 1963 Chronometer in limited edition.

The watch is powered by the newly developed LUC Caliber 63.01-L manual movement. The movement created in partnership with the Ecole d’Horlogerie de Genève (Geneva Watchmaking School) three years ago, comes certified by both Geneva Seal and COSC.

The 38mm LUC Caliber 63.01-L pocket watch movement features old fashioned styles such as the black polished steep cap on the escape wheel cock and the swan neck regulator. Made in German silver in contrasting colors of silver and plated gold, it also carries other traditional decorations such as Côtes de Genève pattern. The movement has a power reserve of 60 hours and beats at a 28,800 vph.

The porcelain style white dial features large black Roman numerals and rail track minute circles. The small-seconds sub dial with Arabic numerals in red overlaps the main dial at 9 o’clock. Its hour, minute and small second hands are in gold, while the crown comes decorated with the logo of the brand.

Available in two versions – 18 karat pink gold or platinum, each version is limited to 50 numbered pieces. The L.U.C. 1963 Chronometer comes fitted with a hand-stitched blackalligator strap and a matching pin buckle in pink gold or platinum. Pricing for the watches yet to be announced.
