Panerai presents its special editions

Matte green dials are inspired by the military history of this brand…

While four new models in Panerai Radiomir collection inspired by 1940s will never see the lights of a battle, this brand equipped them with matte green dials, as well as an interesting military-inspired aesthetics, as an omage to its heritage from the Second World War, during which they were the main suppliers of the Italian Royal Navy.

Created in Panerai manufacture in Switzerland, these pieces remind us of the times when this brand was used as the main equipment of the First Submarine Command of Italian Navy, the elite diver group who had to have precise timekeepers in order to detonate bombs and synchronize their challenging underwater missions. Monochromatic green shade was chosen for the dials and it belongs to the lengthy tradition of using green on military uniforms and equipment for better camouflage on the battlefield.

Panerai has presented the first ten prototype models which will become Radiomir 1936 models. Until this very day, the watch contains the same characteristics for which it is famous: a large pillow shaped case, integrated lugs and fluorescent numerals and indices.

Four new additions to this series include an automatic model with three hands and case with a 45 mm diameter, made of polished steel (11.200 USD), a GMT model with the same case (12.000 USD), GMT model with energy reserve and the same case (12.200 USD) and a hand wound model with three hands, a case with the diameter of 48 mm, made of sanded black ceramics (13.300 USD).

Each of the three automatic models contains bi-directional micro rotor, which comes with a three day energy reserve. All models are waterproof up to 10 bar pressure, and they come in a box with satin finished cherry wood, original and spare strap.
