Swiss watch brand Strom today presents the “In Memorian HR Giger” watch, one of the final projects on which the artist worked before his death in 2014.
Zannetti - impressive pocket watch
Skull motif is often used in modern art, watchmaking and jeweler, as a very expressive element...
For example, for nearly five centuries, Mary Stuart, the former Queen of Scots, played with a watch which is designed in the shape of the head, symbolizing the "memento mori" adage. However, the watch that we present you this time, goes even further in the past.
Its symbolic meaning has quite changed as the years passed, and today, the skull is used simply as an accent that watchmaking brands use to make people who wear their creations stands out from the crowd. Just because, Zannetti, an Italian manufacturer of all kinds of luxury items, choose the skull as a base for its new watchmaking miracle or pocket watch simply called Zannetti Skull. Of course, this watch does not fit everyone's taste, but that was not its purpose.
Pirate Skull Pocket watch of the brand was unveiled a few weeks ago at the fair of watches and jewelry in Basel, representing handmade skull decorated with natural turquoise or 18K gold. The skull was made of silver or copper, and is equipped with Swiss quartz movement.
White and black versions of this model are equally stunning. Of course, Zannetti Skull model is limited edition release, although we still do not have accurate information regarding availability and prices.
