Formula 1 champion Max Verstappen recently took delivery of his new Aston Martin Valkyrie model, but according to reports, footage of his drive in France could land him in hot water with the local police...
In the video, the Dutch racing driver can be seen traveling through the Canta-Galet tunnel on the A8 highway between Marseille and Nice. His passenger was filming the legendary racer behind the wheel, and at one point, the digital speedometer located in the centre of the steering wheel registered 124 km/h. This, of course, is nothing for the machine he's driving, but it's definitely something that could get him in trouble with the law because, according to the information we have, the speed limit in this tunnel is ninety.
Details about Max Verstappen's Aston Martin Valkyrie model are not known to the public, but we can safely assume that he ordered it when it was first introduced in 2016, back when it was still known as the AM-RB 001. Verstappen has been competing with the Red Bull Racing team since 2016, and even though his sponsorship F1 contract ended with Aston Martin in early 2020 when Lawrence Stroll bought the British manufacturer, Red Bull Advanced Technologies continued to develop the Valkyrie series in collaboration with the brand.
The Valkyrie is unique not only for its extreme design and focus on aerodynamics but also for its engine. Beneath the ultra-light carbon fibre chassis of this line lies a powerful 6.5-liter Cosworth V12 internal combustion engine, accompanied by an electric motor, producing a combined output of 1,160 hp and 900 Nm of torque.
