Lang & Heyne Hektor Edition II: A Horological Counterpoint Merging Tradition and Modernity

In music, counterpoint is the art of creating an independent melody which, although autonomous, remains in perfect harmony with the principal voice.

In horology, Lang & Heyne applies the same philosophy—crafting timepieces that are not merely instruments for measuring time but true works of art engaged in a dialogue with their own tradition. The Hektor Edition II, presented in September 2025 in Radeberg, embodies precisely this counterpoint: independent, bold, and modern, yet deeply harmonious with the classical DNA of the manufacture.

Four years after the debut of the first Hektor, the new version arrives in stainless steel, equipped with the refined caliber LH 33.2-2. This movement, hand-crafted in the spirit of Saxon watchmaking tradition, showcases both technical and aesthetic evolution: more fluid bridge lines, a redesigned central seconds bridge, and a subtle contrast between rhodium-plated brass and untreated German silver, together creating a sense of architectural depth.

Technical Innovation

Among the innovations are a double Incafix spring support, a free-oscillating balance with six eccentric weights for precise adjustment, and solutions ensuring stability and longevity without compromise.

Lang & Heyne remains true to its distinctive visual language, known as the “petticoat” design, extending from the bridges within the movement to the hands and the integrated steel bracelet. The triple-shaped lugs, elegant crown, and anti-reflective sapphire crystal form a union of classical elegance and contemporary strength.

Refined Aesthetics

The 40 mm case, 10.95 mm thick, houses a black galvanic dial with applied indexes filled with Super-LumiNova, ensuring flawless contrast and legibility even in low-light conditions.

The name “Hektor” is no coincidence—it is a metaphor for counterpoint in horology: a timepiece that deliberately diverges from tradition yet never disrupts the harmony of the manufacture’s philosophy. Edition II is not merely a reissue, but a new chapter—a contemporary voice in the orchestra of watchmaking art, powerful, rhythmic, and unique.

Collector’s Appeal

Limited to only 99 pieces, the Hektor Edition II is a precious creation for collectors and individualists seeking the fusion of technical substance and a strong design identity. Priced at €19,999 (excluding VAT), it stands among the most desirable modern timepieces infused with the spirit of classicism.
