Marlon Brando's watch for sale

When he was asked to take off his GMT Master watch during filming, he refused and said: “If someone is looking at my watch that means I’m not doing my job”…

GMT Master which Marlon Brando wore in the epic 1979 film Apocalypse Now by Francis Ford Coppola, will be auctioned off later this year. As the most important timepiece in the collection of this Hollywood legend, Silver GMT Master made in 1972 hasn’t got its bezel, it has a black face and a matching strap. The model, which was considered to be missing for a few years, was presented in the same shape it had when the famous actor gave it to his daughter, Petra Brando Fisher. What makes this model truly unique is the hand engraved M.Brando signature on the case back.

The auction has been set for December 10th and it will be held in New York. Aside from the model which was owned by the famous mister Brando, the offer will contain a Rolex Day date owned by Jack Nicklaus. While the auction house hasn’t revealed their estimate for Brando’s GMT Master, we can assume that the final price will be high, given the fact that Paul Newman’s Rolex Daytona was sold for 17.752.500 million dollars two years ago, while diamond decorated Omega, which belonged to Elvis Presley was sold for 1.8 million dollars last year.
