Roger Dubuis presents a watch which you can change whenever you want

In the world of racing, engineering of every component with a modular design for the sake of quick replacement is crucial…

During one race,  pit crew changes tires and other parts of race cars in the blink of an eye, and that is exactly what inspired the Swiss watch brand, Roger Dubuis, to create their latest limited edition watch in collaboration with renowned tire manufacturer Pirelli. The two brands have previously teamed up to present several limited editions together, but the latter takes horological engineering to a whole new level. Most modern watches have some sort of quick strap replacement system, but the new Roger Dubuis Excalibur Spider Pirelli features a new, unique Quick Release System that allows the wearer to replace the strap, base and crown without much hassle and effort.

The Roger Dubuis Excalibur Spider Pirelli watch can be transformed from a completely black version into a colour-accentuated model, which we can see on Pirelli racing tires. Called Race Kits, these changeable parts are available in red, white or blue and can completely change the look of a watch. The 45 mm diameter case is made of DLC titanium with a natural finish, and is paired with a strap created from Pirelli rubber.

The watch is powered by an RD820SQ mechanism that is skeletonized and has a star shape, offering a power reserve of 60 hours. The Roger Dubuis Excalibur Spider Pirelli can be purchased for $ 76,000, and only 88 Race Kits will be available worldwide.
